Women Technical Training Center Inaugurated in Loralai

Loralai: Assistant High Commissioner UNHCR Mr. George Okoth-Obbo and Advisor to Chief Minster Mr. Ubaidullah Babat inaugurated Women Technical Training Center (WTTC) Loralai, on Thursday.
They cut the ribbon to inaugurate the new building of WTTC Loralai.
Commissioner Zhob Divsion Mr. Fawad Hashim Rabani, Provincial Sectrarty Labor Mr. Hamid ul Karim and Chief Commissioner for Afghan Refugees Mr. Imran Zaib were also present on the occasion.
Women Technical Training Centre (WTTC) was set up in Loralai district at a cost of $103 million to teach the women four different trades including tailoring, computer training, and beautician and cooking. WTTC will train Afghan and local women in these trades to increase livelihood opportunities of women of Zhob division. Aim of the project was to provide economic opportunities for women through technical training.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. George Okoth-Obbo said that centre will equip women of the area with modern techniques of different trades. This will not only reduce poverty in area but will impart technical training to women and will enable them to seek jobs. WTTC Loralai will also provide job opportunities for skillful jobless youth. He further said that there is a huge gap between skillful men and women. He said that women are cut off in big number from economic activities in Balochistan.
After inauguration, chief guest visited different parts of centre. Dignitaries Chairman District Council Shams Hamzazai, Chairman Muncipal Committee Niamat Jalalzai, Principal Balochistan Residential College Professor Najeebullah Kakar, Vice Chancellor Loralai University Prof. Abdullah Khan, Registrar Loralai University Noor-ul-Amin Kakar besides citizen and local journalists were also present on the occasion.
Citizens thanked UNCHR for the gift in form of WTTC and hoped that it will help in increasing livelihood opportunities in the area.
