Quetta: Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced to digitize students’ attendance during the coming Intermediate and Secondary exams to prevent the impersonation cases and discourage cheating culture.
Following the coming Intermediate and Secondary Exams across the province, the Balochistan Board has conducted a seminar called “Good Bye Cheating” here on Monday. Board officials and participants reiterated in the seminar to halt cheating culture that maligned Balochistan’s educational status from past many years.
“First time in the history of Balochistan the board is to introduce digital attendance system that will prevent students from impersonation in exams,” Controller Examination Balochistan Board Syed Ibadullah addressed the seminar.
“Students have to verify their presence with placing their thumb impression that would be verified from National Data and Registration Authority (NADRA).” He added.
An estimated 115,000 students have been taking part in the Intermediate and Secondary Exams that would be kicked-off from this week. Following the numbers the board has set-up 302 examination centers across the province that will be supervised by 900 supervisory staff and 60 Center Inspectors.
Balochistan board has written letter to the Home Department, seeking strict action against persons supplying cheating material in the vicinity of examination centers.
“We have asked the Secretary Home to impose section 144 during the examination to prevent outside interference during the exams,” Secretary Balochistan Board Shoukat Sarparrah addressed the seminar.
He said, “If any student was found while cheating, he would be sacked from the examination center and his/her exam sheet would be cancelled.”
Balochistan has a poor record in combating cheating culture as compared with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Province, that’s being decreased its literacy rate drastically. Teachers remain involved in supplying cheating material by taking huge sum from the students.
The Seminar stressed upon the teachers to make sure their appearance in classes and teach students keenly that will keep-away them from cheating.
