Gwadar: Sportsmen in Gwadar have urged provincial government of Balochistan to patronize and support sports in coastal city.

Those who addressed the program include Hanif Hussain Secretary New Star Cricket Club, Ex-cricket Ghani Asif, Captain Rasool Baksh and others.
Speaking at the occasion, speakers said that Gwadar has always been fertile in terms of producing sportsmen. “Gwadar has huge talent when it comes to cricket and the need is to support it,” they said.
Speakers claimed that cricketers in Gwadar are playing cricket on self-basis without any help from the government. “If cricketers of Gwadar are provided opportunities then they can represent the national cricket team,” said the speakers.
Performance of Gwadar Cricket Association was criticized in the program. Speakers said that this association is not performing as per the expectations. They further demanded that there needs to be a robust check and balance mechanism on the said association to ensure its effectiveness.
In the end, speakers requested from the provincial government of Balochistan to support the sportsmen in general and cricketers in particular so that they can reach the national level teams.
