Awareness Raising Seminar about Rights of Women in Quetta

Quetta: One day awareness raising seminar was organized by the collaboration of Social Sangat and CYAAD at Boys Scouts headquarters Quetta on 4th December.
Media correspondents and civil society members took part in the seminar.
As compared to the other parts of country, women are facings a lot of problems in Balochistan due to early age marriages, said the speakers.
It was revealed that more than 200,000 women are deprived of National Identity Cards in Quetta.
Easter Tahir told that women face a lot of hurdles due to early age marriages in Balochistan. There is lack of basic health facilities in hospitals for women during pregnancy. Often woman and children die due to low facilities. She further added that women face a lot of problems in household work and it badly affects their health.
Khalid Mir Provincial Coordinator Chanan Development Association said that due to early age marriages girls are facing huge difficulties in different fields of life. He further added that there is no effective law to stop early age marriages in Balochistan. He demanded from Government of Balochistan to make a complete law and ensure stopping of early age marriages.
Mr. Mir told that it causes difficulties to get CNIC card under 18 years age, and it is impossible to take actions against violation of women rights without CNIC card.
