Gwadar: Balochistan Entrepreneurship and Leadership Training Organized

Gwadar: SMEDA Balochistan and British Council jointly organized a one day training on “Balochistan Entrepreneurship and Leadership Training (BELT),” on Thursday.
Motto of the training was to create job creators rather than job seekers and it was attended by 50 participants of diverse backgrounds from all over Makran region of Balochistan.
SMEDA Balochistan hired a trainer from SEED (Social Entrepreneurship Equity Development), A Karachi based Non-profit Organization, for the training.
Contents of the training program were to introduce students to the Idea of entrepreneurship, Identification of Market Gap, Business Idea Generation, Business Plan Development with focus on different methods of generating seed money for startups and to motivate students to change their business ideas to enterprises. The training comprised of interactive sessions and hands on activities.
SMEDA Balochistan also shared with students the SMEDA’s Business Plan Template that could be used to get funds for their startups through Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan scheme.
SMEDA Balochistan conducts such trainings from time to time to motivate and inspire Baloch youth to take up Entrepreneurship as a Career and become Job providers rather than Job seekers.
Also, SME development could prove to be a key instrument in poverty reduction of Balochistan, which is why SMEDA Balochistan is trying to promote entrepreneurship through its Entrepreneurship Action Plan, supporting entrepreneurship education, and provide support tools for existing and aspiring entrepreneurs of Balochistan.
Women from diverse backgrounds from different institutions have also participated in this training which will help promote Women Entrepreneurship and facilitate women entrepreneurs in the region.
Trainee participants really appreciated the efforts of SMEDA Balochistan for conducting such trainings to motivate and educate them to be entrepreneurs.

At the end of the training program Mr. Shakoor Ahmed Baloch, Provincial Chief, SMEDA Balochistan highlighted the important role which Entrepreneurship can play in giving a boost to Balochistan’s Economy. He also highlighted the sectors of Balochistan’s Economy that have a huge profit potential. He also emphasized that it’s high time now that a poverty struck Province like Balochistan starts working in its major sectors and exploit the competitive advantage that the mineral rich province has to bring prosperity and economic development in the province.
This training is one of many trainings that SMEDA Balochistan has in pipeline for promotion of Entrepreneurship in the region.
