Books are friends whom helps us to find information with ease. UNESCO start celebrating Annual Books Day since 23rd April 1995. This day reminds us of the aim to make a peaceful environment for youth to get in touch with books.
Book is a friend who never makes you feel ashamed in life. It is need of current time to get untouched with books to face hurdles of life with bravery, said Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani Chairman Balochistan Peace Forum while he was expressing his views during a seminar. He also inaugurated Book fair in Quetta Press Club on the occasion of Universal Books Day.
He further added that it is a wrong concept that Nawabs and Sardars are creating hurdles in promoting education and development. If we put a glance on history it shows us that in 1970 elections people elected Gul Khan Naseer, Nawab Ghaus Baksh Raisani, Nawab Ghaus Baksh Bizenjo and others who had studied from renowned institutions, now a days Assembly Members have fake degrees which they have completed from Madaaris and some from Mach Prison,  added Lashkari Raisani.
Other Speakers said that Research has almost ended in our society therefore we need to promote books reading.  We have to take benefits from CPEC and it’s only possible when we pay attention to education and reading books.
On this occasion Brahvi Academy, National Book Foundation, Kalat Publishers and other institutions set up their book stalls where people bought books in a large numbers.
On Universal Books Day, Baloch Students Action Committee also arranged a walk in Bolan Medical College and Agriculture College to highlight importance of books in life.
