NCHR Takes Notice of Alleged Custodial Killing in Mastung

Quetta: National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) has taken notice of a case of alleged death of a suspect in Police custody in Mastung.
Babul Jan Bangulzai, a suspect was called to Police Station for investigation and later his dead body was handed over to his relatives, on Wednesday.
Relatives of Babul alleged that he was tortured to death in Police custody and was given electric shocks which resulted in his death. Police denied the claims of relatives of Babul.
The news of alleged custodial killing of Babul Jan made it into social media. NCHR took notice of the case based on social media reports and conducted their own investigation into the matter.
Sources at provincial office of NCHR in Quetta told Balochistan Voices that they have taken notice of this case and written letters to Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan, DIG Investigation and SSP Mastung. NCHR is expected to receive the replies from the Police next week.
Once the response of Police is received then NCHR will send case to Human rights Committee of Parliament for further hearing.
