Quetta Safe City Project Still Incomplete After 5 Years

The government of Balochistan planned Quetta safe city project in 2013 to tackle terrorism and maintain peace. Under this project government decided to install 1,400 close circuit cameras and scanners on different places of Quetta city and nearby areas.
The government has released a large number of funds to implement this project. After a passage of 5 years, the full implementation of this project is still pending.
In June 2017 Present Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Sana Ullah Khan Zehri has directed concerned quarters to pace up the work on the implementation of Quetta Safe City Project.
According to sources 25 cameras of 32 installed in Quetta city are working properly. Unluckily, CCTV camera on GPO Chowk has been removed before one and half month and still not installed. This location involves frequent VIP moment which needs to be watched.
Citizens of Quetta told Balochistan Voices that provincial government is not taking interest to resolve people problems. They are very much busy to improve their bank balance and adjust kith and kin are in different departments.
They urged the provincial government to take serious notice of delay in this crucial project and ensure Installation of CCTV cameras in Quetta City.
