Quetta: Women March Demands a Society Sans Exploitive Patriarchal Structure

Quetta: Women march held in Quetta demanded a society without exploitive patriarchal structure, on Sunday. Women march in Quetta was held jointly by Women Action Forum (WAF), Voice of Students, Youth Progressive Alliance to celebrate International Women’s day.
The women march took place on Adalat road and culminated in a protest demonstration outside Quetta Press Club.
The participants of the march demanded provision of basic economic, societal, legal rights along with serious steps for health and educational facilities for women of Balochistan. Participants lamented that campuses should be demilitarized and surveillance of students in the name of security must be ceased. They demanded that the government must conduct a fair investigation of the University of Balochistan harassment scandal.
Habib Tahir, Hameeda Noor, Rafia Malik, Mir Behram Baloch, Behram Lehri, Shams Mando Khail, and others spoke during the protest. The protestors peacefully dispersed at the end of the demonstration.
