Cleanliness Campaign Underway in Quetta City

Quetta: Cleanliness campaign is underway in Quetta city on special instructions of Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan Nawab Sana Ullah Khan Zehri.
Reportedly, CM has released Rs. 50 million for the project of cleanliness of Quetta.
Staff of Metropolitan Corporation Quetta have started working in different areas of Provincial Capital city.
Metropolitan teams are shifting big quantity of Dirt and other harmful garbage out of city to make clean atmosphere for people.
Garbage dumps are picked out from drains and then shifted out of the city by the staff of the Metropolitan Corporation. This is done to ensure that drains are not choked due to garbage which causes further pollution.
Iftikhar Ahmed Baloch is a Student who lives in a flat near Siddiqia Masjid told Balochistan Voices that he faces a lot of trouble to cross the road and go to his room when he comes back from tuition center.
Mr. Asmat Ali, a local resident of Jan Muhammad road, told Balochistan Voices that many times the dirty water floats on road and traffic and people face a lot of problem to go their homes and offices.
“Jan Muhammad road is always home town of Deputy Mayor, but very sad to say that we are still in trouble from dirty water and drain floating near Siddiqia Masjid,” Lamented Mr. Ali.
Other local residents told Balochistan Voices that it is sad to see that the people who are leading campaign to clean Quetta city are not doing anything for their own areas which still face the problem of dirty water spread and roads and people face lot of problem to go to Mosque and say their prayers.
As the deputy Mayor Quetta said in a press release that “Cleanliness campaign is a long term plan to clean Quetta city but 50 Million funds are not enough to achieve the goals of project with success. It needs more funds to keep the campaign running effectively.”
