IELTS Test to be Conducted in Quetta

Quetta: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Provincial Minister Education Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Country Director British Council Pakistan Rosemary Hilhorst to conduct IELTS tests in Quetta. MoU was signed in Pakistan High Commission London, on Thursday.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is taken by more than two million people every year around the world. Its an English language test accepted for immigration purposes by many countries including UK.
The issue of No ILETS testing center in Balochistan was raised by Balochistan Voices in November last year. It was highlighted that candidates of Balochistan, willing to appear for IELTS test, have to travel to other cities for this test and they have to incur additional expenses which was unaffordable for under-privileged people.
Civil Society Balochistan and provincial office bearers of Chevening Alumni Association played their role in bringing this issue to the attention of concerned authorities.
The details of MoU were not made public and it’s not known that from when the ILETS tests will be started in Quetta.
