Compulsory to Enhance Coordination and Serve the People of Balochistan: DG Health

Quetta: Director General Health Services Balochistan Dr. Noor Chaired Coordination and Communication meeting of Peoples Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Balochistan yesterday.
He was briefed by the management about ongoing activities and other projects of PPHI-B regarding primary healthcare services.
He was further briefed that PPHI is providing MCH services in 136 Labour Rooms of which 41 are 24/7 operational. PPHI has also appointed 265 Vaccinators on a contract basis to improve the Polio campaign and routine Immunization. Apart from that, PPHI-B in collaboration with UNFPA, IRC, WHO, World Bank, USAID, Mercy Corps, and other partner organizations is working on MCH services and mobilization projects.
Furthermore, he was informed that PPHI-B in collaboration with UNFPA is providing Mother and Child Healthcare services through Hub and Spoke Model at THQ Khanozai Pishin, and the services are also extended in other districts of Balochistan. PPHI has established 14 Telehealth Clinic centers in Balochistan and one Mobile Telehealth Unit in the provincial capital Quetta. Where specialists and doctors examine patients through online technology and prescribe medicine. This has ease-out on timely diagnosis of disease and shifting patients to hospitals.
He was informed that; 6 Emergency Response Centers will be established by PPHI-B in collaboration with the Government of Balochistan on Coastal Highway. In this regard appointment of Staff has been completed, the healthcare providers will be trained for 4 months by Rescue 1122 Academy Punjab, Lahore.
Director General Health Services Balochistan Dr. Noor Qazi in his remarks said that we should enhance coordination and communication to improve healthcare services. Everyone has to understand their responsibilities to serve the underprivileged people of Balochistan.
Mr. Qazi further added, it is a need for time to improve performance and provide better health facilities to the poor masses. PPHI-B is part of the Health department, we have to work combinedly to ensure the provision of healthcare services to the people of Balochistan on their doorstep.
Director Public Health Dr. Tahira Baloch and PPHI-B officials participated in the meeting. DG Health Services Balochistan inspected the Mobile Telehealth Unit and appreciated the initiative.
